Here are some common methods to remove sweat stains from pillowcases:

Baking soda

  1. Add one-fourth cup of baking soda in 2 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid in a container with boiling water.

  2. Mix the ingredients and soak the stained pillowcase in the solution.

  3. Leave the pillowcase for one hour or overnight if the stains are stubborn.

  4. Remove the pillowcase and give it a good squeeze.

  5. Toss the pillowcases into the washing machine and wash them normally.

Things to consider when using baking soda:

While using baking soda to clean and whiten pillowcases can be effective in some cases, here are a few considerations to keep in mind:

  • If the fabric is not rinsed thoroughly, the baking soda residue can be uncomfortable and might cause skin irritation.

  • Some people may be sensitive or allergic to baking soda. Therefore, applying it directly to the pillowcases without thoroughly rinsing it may trigger allergic reactions.

  • The abrasive nature of baking soda can cause discoloration on some fabrics and damage or loosen any sequins, beads, or embroidery.
