Stain Removal from Mattress

As soon as you spot a stain on the mattress, we recommend taking a fast and gentle approach to successfully removing it.

Optional: Move the mattress outside to an area with sunlight. The ultraviolet sunlight will help eliminate germs and bacteria.

First, use a vacuum hose to remove any visible dirt, dust, or debris from the mattress. Then, pick up a microfiber cloth or paper towel, soak it in cold water, and blot the affected area—just be careful not to soak or oversaturate the mattress while you do this.

After that, pre-treat the blood stain using Vanish Oxi Action Pre-Treat Spray and Vanish 3-in-1 Shampoo, whose fast-acting formula not only lifts stains but also removes odors from deep within, leaving you with a fresh mattress once more.

Instructions:

Pre-Treat Spray

Spray Vanish Oxi Action Carpet & Upholstery Pre-Treat Spray directly onto the stained area and rub gently.

Leave the spray on for 5 minutes before washing as normal.

Blot the blood stain, and then remove any leftover product with a clean cloth.

Heavy stains may require a second application.

Stain Removal Shampoo

Mix 1 part Vanish 3 in 1 Carpet & Upholstery Shampoo with 9 parts water (max temperature 40˚).

Whisk the solution into a foam.

Apply the foam on the stained area using a brush or sponge.

Sponge the stain with the stain remover foam solution.

Blot the stain every 5 minutes with a clean area of the cloth (or a new cloth) and some more cleaning solution.

Use a clean cloth to blot the area dry, and allow it to dry completely for one day.
