Why white towels lose their brilliance

Let’s learn why white towels lose their shine and become dingy.

[H4] 1. Detergent: Some detergents contain harsh chemicals that might break down the fibers in the towels, causing them to lose their brightness over time.

Adding Vanish Oxi Action Crystal White Powder (designed for whites) to your laundry helps you ensure amazing stain removal results, and its whitening ingredients help retain a brilliant whiteness in your washing.

[H4] 2. Washing with colors: You should wash your white towels separately from colored clothing to prevent dyes from bleeding onto them, which can ruin them.

You've probably heard it before, but it's worth repeating that you shouldn't wash your white towels with colored clothing, especially newer items, to prevent color bleeding.

[H4] 3. Hard water: Hard water contains a high percentage of calcium and magnesium, which the towels can absorb. These mineral deposits build up even more over time and lead to discoloration.

Removing stains from towels

Use Vanish Oxi Action Crystal White Powder to remove unwanted stains, odors, and 99.9% germs while preventing surfaces from becoming dull or dingy.

There are three methods for utilizing Vanish products to eliminate stains: Pre-treat, Soaking, and adding directly to the Wash.

Although pre-treatment and soaking are typically reserved for tough stains, the in-wash method is the simplest and can be combined with pre-treat or soaking.

Tips to keep your white towels clean for long

1. Let the towels dry after use: After each use, hang towels, preferably on a towel bar instead of hooks, and let them dry before tossing them into the laundry basket. This will help prevent bacteria, mildew, and odor from getting trapped within the fabric’s fold and extend the duration between washes.

2. Two towels per person: Keep two towels for each person so they can always have a fresh towel while the other is being washed.

3. Avoid loading the washing machine with many towels: Towels are heavy and might not wash and rinse correctly if you stuff all the towels with other laundry.

That’s how to remove stains and revive your white towels quickly and easily, using only designated products such as Vanish, available in powders, liquids, and pre-treat spray.

FAQs

Does vinegar and baking soda help whiten towels?

Yes, they are both natural whiteners for clothes. However, due to their acidic and abrasive nature, using them too much can often break the fabric fibers and produce accidental bleaching of unstable dyes. Instead, use Vanish stain remover with Oxi Action, which removes stains, odors, and germs while retaining the brilliant whiteness even after 50 washes.

How often should I wash my towels?

You should wash your towels after three uses and let them dry completely between them. If you shower daily, wash your towels at least twice a week.

What makes white towels turn yellow?

White towels often turn yellow or experience discoloration for various reasons, including mineral buildup, detergent residue, body oil, and sweat.
