If the ink stain is fresh, immediately blot away as much ink as possible with a paper towel, napkin, or microfiber cloth.

If the ink has dried, put several pieces of towels under the stained area and dampen the ink with a few drops of water. Then, blot the dampened stain with a paper towel to remove any loose ink.

However, be cautious to exert too much force as it could cause the ink to set deeper into the fibers or spread it so the stains become larger.

FAQ

Should I avoid using hot water when treating ink stains on jeans?

Yes, be sure only to use cold water because hot water may put the ink deep into the jeans' fabric’s fiber, making the stain remover process difficult.

Additionally, carefully check and ensure all the ink is gone before drying the jeans, as the heat from the dryer will set the stain in.

How often should you wash your jeans?

As a general rule of thumb, it is advised to wash your jeans after every 3-10 wears or when they start to smell. If you are regularly active in your jeans, wash them every 3 years.

Does washing jeans fade the color?

Machine washing your jeans using cold water prevents the fibers from releasing dye. But washing your jeans in warm or hot water will speed up fading and cause them to shrink.
