Before getting started, gently scrape away as much of the mustard as possible using a dull knife or a spoon. Remember not to apply too much force, as this could cause the stain to penetrate the fabric’s fibers further. Then, blot the stained area with a microfiber cloth or paper towel dipped in cold, clean water

Option 1: Pre Treat

1. Add ¼ scoop (15g) of Vanish Oxi Action Powder in the water (MAX 40°C)

2. Stir for 30 seconds.

3. Apply the mixture directly onto the stain, rub it gently, and let it sit for 10 mins (do not allow Vanish to dry on the fabric. 

4. Wash as usual. 

Option 2: Soak

1. Add 1 scoop (60g) of Vanish Oxi Action Powder in 4L of water.

2. Stir for 30 seconds.

3. Soak colored clothes in the solution for 1h max, and for whites, it's 4h max.

4. Wash as usual. 

Option 3: Wash

Add Vanish Oxi Action Powder to your machine on top of your laundry detergent. Below are the recommended stain remover dosages:

• ½  scoop (30g) for normal stains.

• 1 scoop (60g) for tough & dried stains.

FAQs

Can I use hot water to remove mustard stains from clothes?

No, be sure only to use cold water, as hot water will further set the stain in the fabric. In addition, do not rub the stain rigorously, as it can lead to a similar problem. 

How do you get dried mustard stains out of clothes?

There's no need to panic if the mustard stain has dried or set in on the clothes. Follow the stain removal steps below: 

1. Scrape off excess mustard.

2. Rinse the affected area with cold water.

3. Pour Vanish Multi Use Liquid Stain Removal on the mustard stain. 

4. Leave the product on the fabric for 10 minutes max.

5. Gently rub the stain as required and follow the washing machine instructions.

6. Skip the clothes dryer until you're sure the stain is completely removed.
